Study Group on International Trade Law
The Study Group on International Trade Law (GEDICI) of the UFMG Law School is a GEDI subgroup that was created in 2005
with the goal of studying relevant subjects related to international trade, specially international contracts and international commercial arbitration . The group is focused on two important tools for the uniformity and safety in international trade: the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) and the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration.
One of the group's main purposes, that works in weekly meetings, is the preparation of a team for the world's biggest Private International Law moot competition, the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, that takes place every year in Vienna and gathered in it's most recent edition 204 teams from all over the world. Among other activities, the group is dedicated to the production of scientific papers and other kinds of publications about international contracts and arbitration.
